Tuesday 19 July was officially the hottest day ever in Hastings. The Borough Council’s volunteer meteorological office on St Leonards seafront recorded a top temperature of 34.7°C (94.5F), which was half a degree centigrade hotter than the previous high of 34.2°C, recorded on 25 July 2019. 

The previous night (Monday/Tuesday 18/19 July) was also the warmest minimum ever, at 23.7°C, beating the previous minimum of 23.5°C set in August 1990.
