HANNAH DEEBLE
A fresh wave of emerging talent will take over Studio 27 at Hastings White Rock Theatre on 23 August, as Skinny Sunday – the one‑day festival curated, produced and run by the young people of the Hastings Fat Tuesday Club – returns with a vibrant line‑up of rising regional artists.

Running from 3pm to 9pm, the event showcases the best new bands from across East Sussex and beyond, selected by the club’s young musicians as part of their year‑round youth music programme.
Supported by Youth Music and Love Hastings, Skinny Sunday gives young people hands‑on experience in event management, at the same time offering audiences a chance to discover the next generation of local talent.
Snapshot of Rising Artists
This year’s line‑up brings together a mix of indie‑pop, alt‑rock, grunge, synth‑driven dance rhythms and fresh songwriting. Amelia & The Housewives are Brighton’s shimmering indie‑pop outfit, currently riding a wave of excitement ahead of their debut album. They are known for sharp wit, chiming harmonies and infectious, sun‑soaked songwriting.
Cicadia are a 3‑piece alt/indie rock band from East Sussex whose debut EP blends confident riffs, tight musicianship and a growing catalogue of original material. Also from East Sussex, Fresh Air are a Mathrock/Midwest emo 3‑piece, formed in late 2025 and already making waves with their debut single released this year. They are known for intricate rhythms, emotive guitar work and a growing presence on the regional live circuit.

WaveMachine are Hastings’ own grunge‑punk‑surf fusion band, driven by gritty bass lines, high‑energy drums and powerful harmonies. From Bexhill, Tellums are an upbeat synth‑and‑guitar‑driven outfit, blending dance rhythms with indie sensibilities to create bright, energetic live performances. Sam Senior is a compelling songwriter whose recent EP showcases raw, emotive alt‑folk storytelling. A Platform for Young Creatives
The Fat Tuesday Club Performers are the young musicians who produce Skinny Sunday, taking to the stage and presenting original work developed through the club’s year-round programme.
