Mellow Yellow

A group show called Yellow, runs at the Stade on from Friday 16  June to Sunday 18 June.

We’re told ‘Yellow is a colourful and conceptual, multi-disciplinary response by 15 local artists, to a set theme. The exhibition promises to bring shadows at golden hour, shouty Spring flowers and cigarettes and crisps, in the form of paintings, prints, ceramics installations and sculpture. Come and get your slice of creative sunshine.’

Paper Cut

The Stella Dore Gallery has an unusual show opening running until 25 June. Tearable features works on paper by David Oates and Yokel Graham.

Both artists have vastly different styles and approaches to their work. Both spent years painting graffiti in strange locations. Tearable aims to tell those stories and depicts some of the rewards and punishments.

CONCEPT OF SILENCE

A leading figure of Korean art, Yun Hyong-keun, has his first UK public gallery exhibition at Hastings Contemporary this summer. Following the Korean War (1950–1953), the country found itself isolated from the rest of the world’s art markets and movements. This led South Korean artists to create their own sets of rules derived from the Korean tradition and creative parameters in the field of abstraction. Yun, was a founding member of this Dansaekhwa movement.
