Calling all lovebirds! Channel 4’s hit dating show First Dates is looking for new participants from the Hastings area.
Hastings – and let’s face it, anywhere – can seem bleak in January. The skies are grey, the weather is cold, and there’s nothing to do. It can feel even worse if you spend your nights dreaming of a love that feels ever distant.
Plodding around Hastings you might hope for your own romcom ‘meet cute’ – randomly bumping into someone attractive and charming who you get on with like a house on fire – but never get so lucky. Or maybe you spend hours on dating apps chatting to people you’ve never met in person hoping that they’re actually real.
Now it’s time to take control of your romantic fate by handing the problem over to somebody else: Channel 4 and TwentyTwenty Productions.
I hear you: these things never work out. But is that always true? Maybe this is what you need to shake up your love life. It might not work out, but then, at least you’ve been on telly – who doesn’t want to be on telly?
So go on, apply! It will stop you moaning that you’ve got no one to see on Valentines, and January may seem just a bit more exciting.
