Doing the Timewarp Again
Dani Turner and The Studio 68! will be turning the clocks back to 1968 at The Piper on Friday 16 October.

The band, whose debut album together, Rollin’, achieved rave reviews on its release on Detour Records this February, fuses a sound inspired by the Small Faces, Free and Led Zeppelin, and incorporates the counter-cultural spirit of the late 1960s.
Singer Dani Turner, a powerhouse blues vocalist, was a staple on the Hastings gig circuit for a decade in the early noughties, blowing audiences away with a voice combining the grit of Janis Joplin with the soulful ache of Elkie Brooks.
Over the last two years the group have electrified audiences at festivals including Camp Bestival and Shiiine On, while they celebrated the release of Rollin’ with a sell-out show at London’s prestigious 100 Club.
The Piper show, however, is their first in Sussex. For 68! guitarist Paul Moody, long term resident of the West Hill, it’s overdue. “Hastings and St Leonards are, of course, steeped in rock’n’roll folklore, with everyone from The Who, Hendrix and Hawkwind having played the pier. So The Piper is the perfect place for us to play our first gig in the town. Hopefully the ghost of Aleister Crowley will show up.”
