A different kind of football togetherness was shown earlier this month when two Royal Mail delivery offices from Hastings and St Leonards fielded teams containing current postmen, ex-postmen and relatives in a fundraiser match at the Gibbons Memorial Field, courtesy of Hollington United Community FC.

The match was played in memory of the popular and much missed St Leonards postie Vicky Plummer, who died from cancer just one week before. A total of £1,402 was raised, over half that sum from a bucket collection on the day. A full match report with photos can be found on Leon Pettit’s Facebook page.
