Active Hastings is calling for young people with ambition and enthusiasm for sports coaching to join their coaching network.

Have you always had a passion for sports? Are you aiming for a career as a sports coach? If this applies to you, and you are aged between 16 and 25 years old, join Active Hastings #NextGen Coaching Network, in partnership with StreetGames.

According to Active Hastings, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a network that supports young coaches. As part of this community, you will be sent regular free training resources including articles, videos, podcasts, and webinars, providing you with the specialist skills and information you need to be an effective coach. Plus, you can collaborate, meet, and share knowledge with other aspiring coaches, giving you a sense of camaraderie and support from like-minded individuals on your coaching journey.

As a memberof the network, you’ll also have the chance to volunteer with the Active Hastings team. Whether you’re looking to gain hands-on experience through regular volunteering or just want to give a helping hand at events, they offer a wide variety of opportunities to get involved.

This network is ideal for those already volunteering with a sports club or community organisation and are looking to benefit from expert knowledge and expand your skills, taking your coaching to the next level. As a member, you’ll receive regular updates on training, volunteering, and work opportunities. Active Hastings offers free training courses throughout the year on topics such as: child safeguarding, first aid and mental health, youth work, and inclusive activity training. Sport-specific courses like multi-sports and football are also available.

Lead councillor for housing and wellbeing at Hastings Borough Council, Glenn Haffenden, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people who want to enhance their skills and gain valuable experience in the coaching field. We are committed to developing young people in our town, and the StreetGames Programme is a great way for young people to develop their skills.”
