Filming of a c mini-series entitled Close To You has been taking place on St Leonards sea-front over recent days and is due to continue until the end of this week.  The series is a dramatisation of a debut novel by British author, Amanda Reynolds, with a star cast including lead actors, Christopher Eccleston (former Dr Who) and Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman). The producers are the Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT), one of the biggest media groups in Scandinavia with headquarters in Stockholm.

The plot features a woman who enjoys an apparently perfect relationship with her partner until a fall erases an entire year from her memory. As the narrative unfolds, she comes to discover secrets about her previous life of which she was previously unaware. The novel offers “sustained suspense combined with psychological drama”, according to the New York Journal of Books.

• The series should hit Channel 4 screens early next year.
