According to government figures, coronavirus infection numbers are falling throughout Sussex as well as nationally.  In the borough of Hastings, there were 241 positive tests in the seven days up to 25th July compared to 326 the previous week; in Rother the number was  203, down from 322. The figures may reflect a reduced number of tests being administered as we enter the summer holiday season.

As to vaccination rates, the same government website showed that, as at 31st July, 79.5% of Hastings residents over the age of 18 had received one dose, 65% two. This compared to national averages of 88% and 71.7 % respectively.
