Poetry Corner: writing my will on the toilet

i’m writing my will

on the toilet

drinking strong coffee

laden with whiskey

waiting for that

familiar movement

of mind & bowels

when i’ll think about

what i might leave

behind

if anything

& who shall get

each part of me

or those parts that

haven’t already

wasted away

or gone down

the toilet

elvis died

like this

i hope i don’t

i haven’t yet finished

my will

or this shit.
