New Play from(the) Old
On Saturday 25 October film history will be made when a screening of Lindsay Jayne’s debut play A Spectacular Interview will be held at the White Rock Hotel.
Lindsay’s film features six spectacularly-clad candidates who are applying for the position of CEO in the world’s largest company. The company is so large that it makes Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, et al, look like SMEs.
Can the Chair deal with the candidates’ dialogues during the interview? Is the intruder a plant – and what happens during the blackout?
At the age of 80, Lindsay wrote this screenplay because, she says, “I have no idea what people are talking about these days. I know others of my generation, and younger ones too, also feel the same. I hope my film will encourage language to be simpler to understand and become less pretentious.”
Lindsay believes she is the only 80-year old woman in the world to have formed her own film company – Rickshaw Pix – and to have written, produced, directed and featured in her own screenplay. Additionally, two years ago she founded The Daytime Theatre Players group which intends to hold various stage productions on weekday or Saturday mornings.
