Application is free for a stall at the most atmospheric summer art event of the year. This year’s guest selector is Becky Beasley, Professor of Fine Arts at Goldsmith’s College, and an award-winning visual artist, mentor, educator and autism advocate.

The Market, now in its fourth year, invites you to participate among the glass mosaic-lined columned bays and salt-worn structure that every August Bank holiday, transforms into a buzzing showcase of original art and creativity. The legacy of architect Sidney Little glitters in the glass fragments on the walls, and the Art Market is proud to honour his spirit of creativity, community, and bold thinking.

Applications are welcome from artists working 2-dimensionally, with paint, print, photography, collage, pencil, pen, or charcoal on any medium. Emphasis is also placed on physical works which can be hung or dynamically presented in the space against the iconic backdrop of the alley.

8 fully-funded places will also be available, open to artists who are either under 25, or who face financial barriers to participation. The free places cover the full cost of exhibiting. To apply, applicants should describe their situation in the ‘bio’ section of the application form. Free place applications are assessed separately by our selection panel. Successful applicants will receive exactly the same experience as all other exhibitors — a prime spot in one of the South Coast’s most extraordinary venues, on a day full of music, food, and thousands of visitors.

Deadline for applications: 28 June. All information shared is treated with complete confidentiality. Decisions are final. Applications from artists who are under represented in the arts are especially welcome. Application form: https://tally.so/r/VL4JYE, Event details: bottlealley.org/baam
