Local Beauty Products win International Awards
St Leonards resident Ula Blocksage has put a lot of time and energy into creating her luxury range of skincare products, d’still but was overwhelmed to find out last week that she had won an award in three categories on The Beauty Shortlist – and all this after launching only eight weeks ago.
Ula says: “I was so thrilled to wake up to the news. Not only did we receive prestigious awards for our beautiful formulas, but to have been named the Brand to Watch in 2021 feels like a dream.”

The other two categories that d’still won were: Best Serum for Dry Skin Award for their Rejuvenating Botanical Serum; Editors Choice Award for their Calming Cleansing Balm.
d’still brands itself as a luxurious, organic, plant-based products, placing slowing down and self-care at the forefront. Ula says: “The intention with d’still was always to create a range of luxury, high-performance, organic skincare that would bring visible results but that would also help us to reconnect with ourselves, our skin and nature. So to see our brand and ethos being recognised and highlighted by such an incredible team of judges is just fantastic.”
Ula is a natural skincare formulator and herbalist. Her vision was to create a conscious, ethical brand to help individuals improve skin health and wellbeing through results-driven, high-performance skincare. The concept of the brand is entirely focused on reconnection and healing, harnessing only the absolute best of what nature has to offer to create 100 percent all-natural skincare that benefits both the skin and the mind.
Ula explains. “Revitalising our connection to the earth [stet] and to the self is central to the work I do. It offers relief and release from the internal stresses that are the cause of so many of our modern-day ailments. The ritual of applying skincare allows us this time and is available even to the busiest of us.”
