HVA Volunteer Awards 2026
Hastings Voluntary Action’s annual Volunteer Award Nominations are now open! Nominations are invited for people who either live or volunteer in Hastings. The categories are:
- Award for Individual Excellence in Volunteering – this is an open category, and HVA welcomes your nominations for volunteers who you think have gone above and beyond to make a difference to an individual or their community.
- Young Volunteer Award (18 and under)– it’s sometimes difficult for younger people to volunteer, due to academic commitments or money constraints, but many still step up to the challenge. Nominate your young volunteers here, to say thanks for their commitment to supporting others.
- Long Service Award– do you have a volunteer who has been with you for as long as you can remember? Nominate them here, tell us their story, and let us know what their long-running support has meant to you and your organisation.
- Green Volunteer Award– nominate volunteers who work tirelessly so we can all benefit from our town’s wonderful green (and blue!) spaces and projects.
- Terrific Trustee– would you like to recognise a trustee whose expertise or long-standing commitment has made a massive difference to your charity? Tell us about it here!
Nominations should be made online by 4.00pm on Thursday 8 October: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScQv8rWyG3JQfX1IDQu1-iNf61lAAK3N_1pEv20Wxd6ENM-5w/viewform Awards will be presented to the winners on the morning of Friday 6 November.
We hope you have enjoyed reading this article. The future of our volunteer led, non-profit publication would be far more secure with the aid of a small donation. You can also support local journalism by becoming a friend of HIP. It only takes a minute and we would be very grateful.
