Young volunteers from St Matthew’s Church made Christmas survival bags for homeless people in Hastings with the help of elderly care home residents at Crest House care home in St Leonards. Catherine Harvey of St Matthew’s Church and Revd Matthew Foy, Minister-in-Charge, had the idea to combine the young with the elderly to spend a day together making survival kits from donations from local companies including the Co-op. Each rucksack contained toiletries, a razor, wipes and deodorant. Seaview Community Centre collected the survival rucksacks and delivered them to street homeless people in Hastings.
