Dance Hastings works to get the whole community engaged in fun social dance activities. They provide inclusive and accessible dance sessions with a focus on adults with learning and physical disabilities, and they offer dementia-friendly dance classes in care homes.

The charity is excited to announce that they have received funding from Sport England to offer a package of online Inclusive Dance Leadership Training with Paradance UK, on seven Saturday mornings, starting on May 13. Follow-up developmental support will be provided by the Dance Hastings team. They also receieved funding from South East Thriving Communities to run an Introduction to Inclusive Dance teaching day, which successfully ran on April 30.

The charity favours practitioners who teach dance and/or work with people with disabilities (physical, sensory and/or learning disabilities), and who are able to demonstrate how their practice is in line with the aims and objectives of Dance Hastings. They are also keen to work with people who are not dance teachers, but feel passionate about inclusive social dancing.

Places for the online training course are limited so the process involves completing an initial expression of interest which will be reviewed by the trustees of Dance Hastings. Successful applicants will then be invited to complete a Paradance UK application form.

Inclusive Dance Training from May 13 – June 17, held on Zoom, Saturdays, 09.00-10.00. Funded by Sport England, delivered by Paradance UK. Additional independent learning required each week, mentoring provided by Dance Hastings instructors. Please email [email protected] for an expression of interest form and more information.
