CEO of seAp Advocacy, Marie Casey, retired on 1st October 2018, having founded and steered seAp both at board and executive level for many years. seAp Advocacy is an independent charity founded in Hastings in 2000 and has since expanded, providing advocacy across the South East and South West of England with a 200 strong team.

Marie has a long history in the voluntary and public sectors challenging inequalities and empowering people and communities to reach their full potential. Previous roles include CEO of ‘Care for the Carers’ in East Sussex, Chair of the Hastings & St Leonards Primary Care Trust and Director of Hastings Voluntary Action (HVA). Having been at the forefront of the advocacy movement since 1994, Marie has championed the role of advocacy in contributing to social justice.  A Fellow of the RSA (FRSA), Marie has chaired a number of partnership boards and is very active in advocating for improved health and social care services nationally, regionally and locally by giving a people a voice and sharing the experiences of our service users.
