As the weather warms up and we move into spring, organisers are gearing up for The Good Future event at East Sussex College, a two-day community conference and workshop which brings business, local organisations and the voluntary sector together to talk about a green agenda for the town.

The event will run on Thursday 3 and Saturday 5 April, with the first day focused on students at the college and the second, weekend day, an open public session to which everyone is invited.

Organiser James Thomas said, “The aim is to get everyone talking about the issues that matter in our town, taking in a broad spectrum from green energy, housing and the public realm.”

The Saturday session, which runs from 10.30am until 3.30pm, will involve some keynote presentations from a range of organisations, including bus company Stagecoach, social housing provider Southern Housing, utility company Southern Water and green energy advisor, Energise Sussex Coast, with follow-up roundtable discussions that will actively involve attendees.

James continued, “Some conferences are simply talking shops, but Good Future 2025 is designed to be different. We are an action space, and are mainly motivated by the thought of turning great ideas into brilliant practice. This is a new project for Hastings and one where we guarantee all those coming along a very warm welcome.”
