The Liberal Democrats have appointed their candidate for the next general election in the Hastings & Rye constituency. He is Guy Harris, a communications consultant for the UK and other governments, recently appointed to the UK Stabilisation Unit of the FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office). He and his family live locally.

He replaces Nick Perry, the Lib Dem party’s candidate at the last four elections. Perry polled over 15% of the constituency vote in 2010, but lost his deposit in 2015 and 2017, and came a distant third with 7.3% in 2019.

A full profile of Guy Harris will be published in a future issue of HIP.
