BMX Battle of Hastings Was a Banger
The sold-out 2024 BMX Battle of Hastings at Source Park was a banger, delighting the audience and bringing a lot of people to the town.

This exciting, weekend-long event, including the BMX Nora Cup award, had a unique team format allowing captains to pick three of their favourite riders to compete alongside them and battle it out.
The first session was the Rail Jam, where 36 riders performed on a brand-new handrail built on the beach adjacent to the Source Park indoor BMX and skateboard park, located in a former lido underneath the seafront.
Saturday saw the Qualifiers and Best Trick sessions when a select number of riders for each team hit the indoor park to rack up points.
At the Sunday finals, the top five teams competed for a final time in a bid to be crowned the overall winners! Each team rider got two runs and then three attempts at the best trick. Team Dove was the overall winner, bringing the trophy home to Hastings.
Despite the wet and windy weather, there was dramatic action on the Big Air ramp where competitors launched from the esplanade above Bottle Alley pedalled frantically, ‘dropped in’, and shot as high as possible up a custom-made ‘quarter’ set facing the sea on the shingle. The trick was to stay on during the descent… Don’t miss highlights of the action on YouTube – the place was bouncing.
