Sustainability on Sea
The Sustainability on Sea (SOS) festival is an inspirational local showcase where Hastings & St Leonards residents – young and old – can learn, explore and try the latest in all things environmentally friendly.
The event will take place between Saturday 21st–Sunday 29th September 2019, culminating in an all-day Big Green Fair with stall holders, information stands, talks, activities for children and entertainment on the Stade.

SOS is adopting the ‘One Planet Living Goals’ by Bioregional as a guide to what might achieved locally. These cover 10 simple principles of social, environmental and economic sustainability:
Health and Happiness
Equity and local economy
Culture and community
Land and nature
Sustainable water
Local and sustainable food
Travel and transport
Materials and products
Zero waste
Zero carbon energy.
• For this year’s SOS Festival we will concentrate on the theme ‘What We Can Do’, highlighting different practical actions people can take on an individual level to live more sustainably, in small or big ways: www.bioregional.com/one-planet-living
