PhotoHastings: 13 years Supporting Contemporary Photographic Practice
GARY WILLIS

Presenting exhibitions and events across Hastings and St Leonards with talks, workshops, events and exhibitions, PhotoHastings provides something for every aspiring photographer. This year, we extended our annual October festival into September to take part in Coastal Currents, and also to coincide with the Turner Prize celebration at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne.
With the generous support of St Andrews Mews, Hastings, we are now showing individual and group work throughout September and October as part of a great opportunity to promote contemporary photography. A full diary means a fortnightly cycle of exhibitions, entitled Mews 1 to Mews 4. We have already stepped into new territory, presenting a morning of film shorts at The Electric Palace, organised by Jude Montague and Matt Armstrong earlier in September.
This October, we will be showing for four weeks at Electro Studios Project Space and Hastings Arts Forum, as well as presenting five wonderful Photology talks at The Pig with Alexander Brattell. Also of particular interest is the collective group show, Here, not There, in St Andrews Mews This is a showcase of varied approaches, from observations, travel documentary, to contemporary discourse and installations with works by Dan Percy, Imogen Bloor, Neale Willis, Derek Cottrell and Gary Willis.
Photographs, installations and more. Here, not There. PhotoHastings @photohastings As ever, more events slot in as the festival develops, check out at photohastings.org Here, not There happens three days a week, 5-8 October and 12-15 October, 11am to 5pm in the gallery space, Unit 23, upstairs in St Andrews Mews
