Street Market Greets Visitors

Kings Road market was in full swing at the beginning of the month, having dodged the tropical downpour that hit the country the following day. Visitors to St Leonards arriving by train saw the town at its independent best, with its wide range of shops supplemented by market traders and street cafes doing a roaring trade.
Hastings Independent was there to soak up the atmosphere as well as to promote the paper, gather feedback on how we are doing, and to drum up support: financial support, by signing up as a Friend of the paper, and active support with the recruitment of volunteers.
The feedback was particularly encouraging, endorsing our mission to provide interesting and informative information about the town – including how to get access the activities and entertainment on offer in the HIP list. Whether you agree or disagree, we’d love to hear from you.
Not only that, several volunteers stepped forward – this section itself needs an editor – and a number of readers agreed to subscribe. So thanks to Anton for organising the event and supporting the paper, and we hope to see you again in a month’s time.
