1066 Country Marketing, the public/private organisation that promotes 1066 Country to visitors, has launched its new website, a much-improved version that should help locals and visitors alike. The launch took place in Battle on Hastings Day, Monday 14th October, the anniversary of the battle in 1066.

Stewart Drew, chair of 1066 Country Marketing, explained that the new website marked the end of a long process working in collaboration with Sussex-based Blue Sail and local company Playne Design.

He said: “The website gives us the opportunity to more effectively promote the region, the individual destinations within it, and new contemporary themes such as culture, music and active sports. He also pointed out the importance of continuing to invest in marketing 1066 Country for the local economy, worth £600m annually and supporting over 14,000 jobs.
