Local charity A Band of Brothers is a community-based organisation that supports young men aged 18–25 who are at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system, currently involved in it, or transitioning from care. They are a national charity with chapters throughout the UK, including one based here in Hastings.

A Band of Brothers provides long-term mentorship, positive male role models, and a supportive community to help young men build confidence, resilience, and purpose. Their work is centred on relationship-building and creating a sense of belonging for young people who may not otherwise have consistent support.

If this appeals to you or someone you know, you are very warmly invited to an open evening to find out more about their work and the impact it has on the young men in our community. The evening will be an opportunity to meet the team and the young men who have been part of Band of Brothers, learn more about their mentoring model, and explore how to work together to better support vulnerable young men locally.

The open evening is on 23 February at 7.00pm at Hastings Unitarian Church South Terrace. Find out more at: eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-band-of-brothers-is-a-community-open-evening-tickets-1980772569075

We hope you have enjoyed reading this article. The future of our volunteer led, non-profit publication would be far more secure with the aid of a small donation. You can also support local journalism by becoming a friend of HIP. It only takes a minute and we would be very grateful.
