Hastings Adventure Golf’s charity evening for the local branch of Sands charity raised almost £1500.

The money was raised from a special evening of reduced-cost mini golf at the Hastings Old Town complex plus some very generous donations. The total of £1,467.50 will benefit the local branch of the national stillbirth and neonatal death charity to help build a bereavement suite at Hastings Conquest Hospital.

Family voucher prizes for golf and fish and chips at Hastings Adventure Golf were won in three age categories. Elliot won the U12 category with a score of 38, Honor Homewood won the U18 with 40 and there was a three-way tie in the adult category with Dave Gomm, Jade Beattie and Ashley Relf each scoring 38.

Kate Richards, of Hastings Adventure Golf, said: “Sands is an amazing charity that provides essential support to families. We are very grateful to everyone who joined us on the charity evening and contributed to this wonderful charity.”

Suz Brooks of Sands, added: “We are really grateful that Hastings Adventure Golf is supporting our work locally and helped raise this amazing amount towards building a facility to support local people at a very difficult time.”

Sands was founded in 1978. It has played a key role in raising public awareness of baby death across the UK and has supported thousands of parents. It works closely with health
care professionals to improve care and fund social and medical research to help prevent tragedies. The new suite in Hastings will be a private space for bereaved parents to
be supported by professionals.
