Hailsham-based artist Kerry Caffyn was there to celebrate this unique commission. “It was an intensive seven-day, hand painting process,” said Kerry, who worked alongside other duck decorators in a Bexhill studio, “and I’m pleased so much good can come out of this project.” 

‘Follow that Duck’ will be at the centre of a wide range of family friendly outdoor events and activities over the summer (look out for a special supplement in HIP) prior to a charity auction in September for those wishing
to give a duck a permanent home.

Dr Karen Clarke, St Michaels chief executive, says: “Every year it takes £6million to run the hospice and only 35% comes from the government. Through engaging in this art trail you’re helping to raise funds.”
