A 2019 South Korean dark comedy thriller directed by Bong Joon-ho, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won. It stars Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik and Park So-dam and follows the members of a poor family who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating their household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.

Parasite won the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, Best Motion Picture at the Golden Globes and also won Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards, becoming the first ever Korean film to achieve that feat. Inspired by the 1922 classic Nosferatu and the masterpieces by Kurosawa and Hitchcock, Bong Joon-ho has always seen Parasite as a noir classic in black and white.
