12 September: Hastings Utd 1, Bognor Regis Town 1 (won 6-5 on penalties)
19 September: Hastings Utd 3, Merstham 0

Hastings United were back on top of the South East Division of the Isthmian League after last Saturday’s matches, as they eased past Merstham at the Pilot Field.

A crowd of 861 spectators saw Max Walsh net a fierce shot from the edge of the penalty area in the first half and do it again in the first minute of the second. Kesna Clarke scored a third within four minutes of being brought on as a substitute. The visitors had their moments, but the United defence held firm.

The previous Saturday the ‘U’s progressed through another qualifying round of the FA Trophy by defeating Bognor Regis 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. They will play a third successive home tie in the competition this Saturday (26th) against Isthmian Premier team Dulwich Hamlet.
