Energise Sussex Coast’s winter energy advice service has restarted. In the first two weeks alone it has saved residents £2,381 by switching to a cheaper supplier or applying for the £140 Warm Home Discount.

The free advice and information covers everything from switching providers to accessing grants and DIY energy efficiency measures. “We are really keen to help local residents bring down their bills and make their homes warmer and more comfortable,” says Kate Meakin, one of their Energy Advisors.

The drop-in energy advice desks for this year are as follows:

• Every Tuesday 10.00am-2.00pm in the contact centre at Hastings Town Hall

• Every Thursday from 2.00-4.00pm in Bexhill Library

• Every Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm in Hastings Foodbank, Hastings Centre, The Ridge

There is also fortnightly advice on Tuesdays at 1.30pm at OPEN in St Leonards (starting 22nd November), and on Fridays from 12 noon at Age UK Information centre in Hastings town centre from 29th November.  

Residents can either make an appointment by emailing kate@energisesussex coast.co.uk or just turn up on the day. Don’t forget to bring along your energy and water bills and, if possible, a recent meter reading.

This year Energise Sussex Coast is extending the service with their 1066 Energy Caravan, taking their energy advice out to rural and isolated communities. Check for the many more dates across East Sussex!
