ROOT 1066 Visual Documentation Brief
ROOT 1066 International Festival – Visual Documentation Brief
To mark the 950th Anniversary of the most famous date in English history, Hastings Borough Council has commissioned the ROOT 1066 International Festival, a contemporary, multi art form festival that will take place in September / October 2016.
Building on the increasing reputation the area has for contemporary arts, the festival aims to offer audiences new perspectives on the history and legacy of 1066 from the best contemporary artists and to put the national spotlight back on Hastings and 1066 Country, through high quality arts and culture.
The festival has supported 20 projects and events across all art forms including participatory and community engagement projects.
We are now asking for proposals to document the festival activity.
- Proposals must include photographic documentation but can also make use of other media such as video.
- The work will be concentrated between 3rd September and 16th October with the addition of two or three events earlier in the year, including key dates of 12th May, 2nd June and 9-10th July.
- A total budget of £2500 is available for this work.
Proposals should outline your approach to the brief, the media you would use, the experience of the people involved and costings.
Please use no more than 2 sides of A4. CV’s can be attached in addition.
Proposals must be submitted by email no later than 12 noon on 29/04/16 to: [email protected]
A decision will be made by 06/05/16.
