There are just three days left for residents to comment on long term development plans for Hastings Town Centre and Bohemia. Hastings Borough Council’s Area Action Plan – which looks ahead to 2033 and includes building hundreds of new homes and transforming the area behind White Rock into a leisure and sports complex – is available to view online. People are being urged to view it and have their say on the plans by this Monday 24th September.

Hastings Urban Design Group –which has held two ‘walkabouts’ explaining the 125-page document and what the plan will mean for the area – is holding one last session this Saturday 22nd September with Hastings Greenway Group focussing mainly on walking and cycling issues.  Meet at the station at 2pm.

Landscape architect and member of Hastings Urban Design Group, Julia Hilton, said previous walkabouts had been successful and had attracted more than 120 people: “it was shocking how few people knew anything about these proposals which will have huge implications for the town.”
