As this competition has been a great success, we continue this year with a theme of the ‘Bayeux Tapestry’. All ages can enter and there are three categories: 11 years and under, 12-18 years and adults (19 years and above). Each writer can only enter one poem.

There is a limit of 500 words and once your poem is complete, please email it to the Deputy Mayor on: [email protected] or send it by post to: Cllr James Bacon, Deputy Mayor, Muriel Matters House, Breeds Place, Hastings, TN34 3UY.

When you send your entry don’t forget to include your full name, age and contact details with your entry. The deadline for entering this exciting competition is Friday 25th October. The winners will be notified by the organisers and will   be invited to an awards evening where they will be presented with their certificates and prizes.

The panel will consist of 3 members: Deputy Mayor Cllr James Bacon, Cllr Judy Rogers and Actress Jenny Hanley.
