Put on your walking shoes
1-2-3 Walks East Sussex is a Health & Wellness website regularly updated with direction and printer-friendly maps for short rambles around local green spaces. These are one, two and three-mile routes, intended to help walkers notice nature, enjoy exercise and strengthen mental health.
This project is run by TCV, a national conservation charity working to bring people and green spaces together and funded by Mind as part of a package of Coronavirus mental health response projects.
A typical example is: Rye to Castle Water Nature Reserve – 3.3m. “Stunning lakes, wide fields, grazing sheep, a river, a canal and a castle… wow,
this one’s a beauty, almost hidden away at the top of Rye Harbour Road. It was already getting muddy when I went, though… wellies advisable!
“There is a car park very nearby but it only takes coins, no card or phone payment options.”
