A new Discovery Centre opens in the heart of the Combe Valley Countryside Park on August 5th. Visitor are invited to join a sponsored walk (eight miles, starting at 10.30am) while younger children can play Countryside Bingo and see how many species of bird, plants and insects they can discover. There’s a BBQ at 1.30pm and family fun and games throughout the afternoon.

The Combe Valley Park management board, chaired by Crowhurst councillor Martin White, is a non-profit organisation set up five years ago by Rother, Hastings and East Sussex Councils. It includes a mix of councillors, local farmers, local business people, and volunteers and a part time project officer has recently been appointed.
