We all get frustrated with the car congestion on the school run, so well done to Ark Little Ridge Primary School for winning the 2019 Walk to School trophy out of ten Hastings primary schools that participated.

During Walk to School Week, students were encouraged to walk, cycle and scooter to school, and the winners banked the highest mileage.

Andy Batsford, Hastings Council’s lead councillor for leisure presented the school trophy, congratulating the children and thanking teachers and staff: “The children put in a huge effort and they told me really enjoyed the challenge … walking to school is not only fun and keeps you fit, but also looks after the planet by cutting down car travel.”
