Learn a skill and make friends at the new Sugar Pie Honey Buns knitting group between 5.30-7.00pm each Monday evening, beginning on Monday 2nd March.

If you’re already a knitter, bring needles and wool. If you’ve never knitted or have forgotten what you learned, come along anyway, materials will be provided.

Knitting has huge benefits for both physical and mental health, from lowering blood pressure and reducing depression and anxiety to boosting confidence and helping combat loneliness.

The co-owner, Ray Manning particularly wants to encourage men. Ray, who has been knitting since he was twenty, says: “It’s a traditional activity for blokes – including Hastings fishermen. It’s great for thinking and contemplation and at the end you get something funky you can wear!”

Sugar Pie Honey Buns is at 235 London Road, Saint Leonards-on-sea TN37 6LU and can be found on Facebook
