Hastings Council to work with Surviving Streets UK
Hastings Borough Council and Surviving Streets UK are working in partnership so they can use Churchwood House as offices and a base for their foodbank.

Surviving Streets UK is committed to supporting and helping homeless and less fortunate people with hot food, warm clothes and other support. Run by volunteers, they also help support children’s centres, food banks and outreach teams around East Sussex.

Work experience offer at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery
Hastings Museum & Art Gallery would like to hear from school students who  are looking for work experience between 13th-17th May and 1st-5th July and would like to try their hand at working in a museum. 

The museum is joining a growing list of employers offering work experience to pupils in Hastings and across East Sussex promoted by the County Council’s work experience team. 

Pupils will be able to experience life behind the scenes of the museum, supporting staff on a range of projects, including: work with collections, on exhibitions and planning events, as well as work with visitor services and learning teams.

CALLING ALL HASTINGS SCHOOLS 
Win a crazy World Maths Day lesson for your class at Hastings Adventure Golf.

It’s back! Hastings Adventure Golf has launched it 2019 schools competition to celebrate World Maths Day. Aimed at primary and secondary schools and with the support of East Sussex County Council Lead Member for Education, the crazy golf complex is offering schools the chance to win a fully prepared practical maths lesson for an entire class at the famous crazy golf attraction.

A range of maths lessons for primary and secondary curriculums complete with worksheets and key learning points have been developed to turn the game of crazy golf into a practical maths learning experience. Areas of the curriculum covered include, geometry, basic operations, fractions and percentages, measurement and distance.
