The Proposed BID Area

  • Up to £1 million invested in Hastings Town over 5 years
  • A small (1-1.5%) levy imposed on eligible businesses based on rateable values
  • Projects could include enhanced marketing and events, better security, cleaner streets, business support
  • Levy, boundary and projects to be set in a final business plan in early summer 2016
  • Eligible businesses to vote from September to mid October 2016
  • If the result is a “YES” 12742824_198452960515828_5474057701292167061_n(0ver 50% of votes cast are in favour by both number and total rateable value), the BID will commence in early 2017
  • BID will be run by a new, independent, not-for-profit company owned by its members (the levy-paying businesses).
  • The BID is being developed by a private-sector led partnership which includes businesses of all sizes in Hastings, and the Town Centre Partnership with the support of Hastings Borough Council and delivery partners Revive & Thrive Ltd
