You visited Gaza but not also Israel. You rely on Hamas’ statistics but not also those of General Andrew Fox (British Army 2005-2021; specialist in Defence, the Middle East, and disinformation) or Aizenberg from Honest Reporting ( to name but two sources).

You have not, in a lawyerly manner, questioned the statements of Al-Jazeera, Oxfam, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Worse, by disseminating Hamas’ statements You are potentially guilty of a criminal act by supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Overall your reasoning is based on feeling rather than fact, on personal viewpoint rather than proper research, on knee-jerk reaction rather than legal reasoning.

In short, you have not “followed the events of the last sixteen months closely” at all. I’m afraid you have succumbed to the myths undermining the truth that Israel is democratic, non-apartheid and non-genocidal (the whole population of Israel has equal voting rights and Arabs sit in Israeli courts – for example). Do you seriously not believe a sovereign state has the right to protect itself? Think through what would happen to Israelis, including all their children, if the country could not defend itself. What would the UK do if it could not defend itself and its children?

Think what decades of Hamas-type education has done to damage the children of Palestinians, brought up from birth to seek and exult in the death of Jews.

Besides, to cite the deaths of children in the manner you have is disgusting. Children are our future, not counters on a draughts board. Any loss of any child anywhere is agonisingly lamentable. In your concern for children I cannot understand why you don’t even mention Hamas’ murder (not the justifiable homicide of war) of hostage Israeli children, particularly that of the Bibas youngsters (along with their mother). Even the Grand Muftis of UAE and Saudi Arabia publicly condemned this and the triumphant Hamas aftermath.

So much for starvation. There was none. Even according to the fake propaganda, those killed in Gaza amount to less than 6% of the population of Gaza. As noted above, those killed include vast numbers of militants, not civilians. The Gazan population has actually grown (i.e. more children) since the end of 2023. So much for genocide. There is none.

What Hamas has proved exceptionally good at it, however, is fake propaganda and playing the victim.

You should be careful in what you publish. Disinformation is leading to attacks on Jews worldwide. “Careless talk costs lives”.

Do you think for one minute that Hamas would have allowed such evacuation?
